Die Casting Team Leader Job Description

In a cell at Castings Aluminum Company there are several positions that run the cell. One of the positions is a Team Leader. A team leader’s job is to manage the team members and the die casting machine Operators though the process of manufacturing the parts and processing them through the line.

The Team Leader must as well know how to run the team member’s jobs to show knew members how to run the parts as well as work the parts in the single piece flow. The Team Leader runs the trim press, tap and drill, breaks flash, and files parts. The team leader is responsible for quality, time management, and any questions from the team.

In addition a team leader, according to Castings Aluminum’s policy, must as well be familiar will all other positions of the team. In case of an emergency the team member must be able to man any other positions being inside of the cell work area. See the Jobs Page for Information.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Team Leader performs physical activities though out the day.
  • Handles and moves materials such as metal, parts, and tooling.
  • Must know how to use a die casting machine.
  • Must know how to perform all of the activities performed in the cell.
  • Performs the necessary tasks aptly.
  • He often uses forklifts to transport tooling and parts.
  • Wraps pallets and label shipments.
  • Fills out paperwork and is responsible for the shipments of his cell.
  • Physical dexterity is also helpful.
